The Masters of Progressive Heritage - Since 1755
Wolsey's association with the world of golf dates back to the late 19th century. Wolsey became the name for high-quality knitwear and sportswear with golfers recognising the benefits of wearing Wolsey, regardless of their skill level. Our garments became known for being comfortable, durable and stylish.
Fast forward to the 1920s, when outdoor sports like golf, tennis, and swimming were all the rage. Wolsey saw the opportunity and jumped on it, launching a line of golf hoses and socks under the name 'Sportsman'. It was a hit, this success led to an expansion into a full range of outdoor leisurewear.
In the 70s, Wolsey was everywhere, from sports teams to individual athletes. Tony Jacklin wore Wolsey while winning The Open Championship and the US Open, putting the brand on the map.
In 1974, we introduced the iconic 'Fox' motif to our golf wear, and it became an instant classic.
In 2018, Eddie Pepperell added another victory to Wolsey's record at the British Masters, proudly sporting the fox logo. And he's not alone; Chris Hanson, Robert Rock, and Toby Tree are just a few of the pros who have proudly worn the fox logo on the course.
Wolsey marked its 256th anniversary in 2020, staying firmly rooted in our heritage while embracing modernity.
Today, Wolsey has designed the In Motion collection, which is all about modern masculinity and versatility. Designed for the active man, these garments seamlessly fuse style with function.
