About Wolsey
Our brand and clothes come with hundreds of years of experience, and we’ve rightly earned the quiet confidence that we operate with. Masculinity, identity and style continues to change but our commitment to enabling our customers to enjoy being the man they want to be, from one day to the next never has. Welcome to Wolsey; where our progressive heritage continues to instil effortless confidence in the modern Wolsey man.
Our History
The history of Wolsey can be traced back over two hundred and fifty years. As early as 1755 Henry Wood was trading in Leicester as a hosier. Producing the best quality products for the nation, our reputation quickly grew and became a house hold name for premium essentials.
Within our first 100 years, Wolsey had become one of the foremost multi product brands in the world. During our rich history, Wolsey has dressed explorers and soldiers. Our innovation and premium quality was essential to both survival and victory. Our quality was recognised and certified in 1935 with a Royal Warrant, and has continuously held one to this day.
Our Royal Warrant
In 1935 Wolsey was appointed to hold a Royal Warrant by his Majesty King George V.
This honour has been held through the reigns of consecutive monarchs and remains with the company to the present day.
Wolsey was privileged to receive a second Royal Warrant from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II since 1953, and the company was further honoured when in 1959 an additional Royal Warrant was also granted by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother.
Our legacy has been founded on our exceptional level in quality and durability, thriving in developing premium product, while carefully designing every aspect of the garment from fabric to button, and fit to packaging. These timeless principles remain true to this day.
The modern Wolsey is curated to fit into any wardrobe whether its premium essentials, or statement purchases.
The premium and consistent quality of Wolsey garments speaks for itself. Recognised by royalty and explorers helped to steer our path onto a journey of constant progression, a journey that has lasted over 250 years to this day... We aim to keep the legacy going.
