Walking With The Wounded
Waves crashing against fishermen’s boats. Bitter cold winds blowing against driftwood huts. Seagulls flocking at the sight of fish. Flickering beams from a lighthouse. Abandoned boats draped in nets. Crunching footsteps on the pebbled shore by a tall, strong man; a war hero.
His name is Duncan Slater and he is an ex Royal Airforce Sergeant, double amputee, and we want to share the incredible journey he has been on since losing his legs at war.
We at Wolsey want to support soldiers like Duncan and help them regain their independence in civilisation and find work. Therefore, we are teaming up with Walking with the Wounded and their ‘Walking Home for Christmas Campaign’.
Sliding his arms into the red jacket, Duncan's face beamed as if it was made for him. A jacket for battle; battle against all elements. With an explorer's mind and interest in nature, he walked along the beach like it was home. He belongs in the wilderness.Read Interview
